Mission Statement

Hastings Boys' High School upholds the finest traditions of education and is seen as an innovative leader in quality boys' education.

In a stimulating, supportive environment, all students will be given the opportunity to become confident, connected, life-long learners and to develop as future leaders of our community.

School Wide Goals - 2012

1. Maintain or improve current 2011 NCEA level of achievement at Levels 1, 2, 3 and University Entrance.
2. Maori and Pacific Island achievement is the same as school wide goals.
3. To continue to develop effective use of data analysis to improve teaching and learning.
4. To action the RESPECT code of students.
5. To improve the work ethics of students.
6. To improve student literacy.
7. To produce a differentiated professional development programme which best meets the needs of staff.
8. To develop specific outlines and resources for each year group to enable teachers to deliver a successful PACE programme.
9. To maintain and improve standards of performance in all co-curricular activity.
10. To develop stronger sustainable links with the local community.
