Sports Trips Payments

Sports trips are generally on a user-pays basis. We endeavour to keep sports trips costs to a minimum, and most of the playing gear required is supplied by the school. The school also heavily subsidises transport for all trips.  We are most generously supported by the many local organisations shown on our "Supporters of Sport" web page, and we have also been fortunate to receive generous support from local charities.  At its December 2012 meeting the Hastings Boys' High School Board of Trustees passed a motion: "that students who have not paid school fees will not qualify for a subsidy towards sports trip. Agreed".

The School is fortunate that the BOT offers a subsidy for every sporting trip and event.  This is possible by the school donation that is paid by parents and caregivers.  However, the spiraling costs now mean that the subsidy is only available to those families who pay into this fund.  If the yearly donation is paid the trip will be heavily subsidised, but if not paid, the full cost of the trip will be charged to the family.  This cost must be paid before the trip takes place.

Many parents are setting up Automatic Payments to help pay for their children's payments and donations.  You are welcome to contact the Bursar to talk through this option.

There may be additional payments for Class Workbooks/Study Guides for specific subjects.  These must be paid at the beginning of the year before they will be issued (boys will be notified early in Term one).
