Hastings Boys' High School is very proud of its school choir amongst whom we have two quartests, namely DYNAMIC SOUNDS who won the Hawke's Bay Men's Chorus Competition in Napeir in 2009 and FUSE WITH HARMONY who won the Men's Quartet Competition at the same event.  Becuse of these 'wins' the boys went to the National Competition held at the Telstra Clear Pacific Events Centre, Manukau City on the 15th and 16th September 2009.

The school Music Department continues to provide a diverse range of opportunities for students to compete and perform in top flight secondary school competitions held at a national level.   The singing groups are sort after around the Bay for singing engagements.

Students also have the opportunity to learn drumming, piano and guitar as well as choir/quartet singing.
