Notes:

  • Students in Year 11 should have a broad base to their education whilst developing some specialisation which could be relevat to post secondary education and/or their chosen  career path. Literacy and Numeracy are essential outcomes and all students must study English and Mathematics at this level.  
     
  • It is appropriate in a school like Hastings Boys' High School that all students follow a Health and Physical Education programme.  
     
  • Identified students are given the opportunity to study for Cambridge ICGSE in Geography and Mathematics.
     
  • All students in Year 11 are wroking toward achieving NCEA Level One.
     
  • A range of differentiated courses are offered in English, Mathematics and Science.
