Homestays

The school appoints a manager to arrange, manage and liaise with homestays:

• The Homestays are carefully selected
• The Homestay Manager liaises between home and the school
• The school provides special care to assist with travel, finance, health and study matters
• Boys are expected and encouraged to take a full part in the family life of their Homestay
• Boys have many opportunities to visit other parts of New Zealand and experience the New Zealand lifestyle.
• Homestay experiences help develop English language skills.

Special Programmes for International Students

Opportunity is provided for international students toparticipate in many extra-curricular activities:

• Playing sport
• Camps are available during school holidays
• Ski trips
• Cultural trips to other cities such as Christchurch, Wellington and Rotorua
• Seniors may have driving lessons, and obtain their licences preparatory to moving to a Tertiary Institution. They are not permitted to drive a car on their own, nor are they permitted to own a car.
• Special purpose instruction can be arranged, such as ballet, flying and martial arts.
