Cricket

Cricket is one of the major summer codes at Hastings Boys' High School.  At present the 1st XI is coached by Mr. Trent Miller who has put many years of hard work into developing cricket at school.

The school has now put in place a development programme where our elite cricket players are identified and coached in the Cricket Academy.  The use of the newly purchased Bola Cricket Bowling machine has been of particular benefit to our batsmen.

Hastings Boys' currently run five cricket teams.  Whilst the 1st XI Cricket team is the flagship for the code at school Hastings Boys' dedicate a large proportion of our resources to the Junior and Colts teams.  Development of players in these junior teams, as in all codes, are seen as the key to success with the senior teams.

Overseas trips are also a regular feature of Cricket Teams at Hastings Boys' High School.  In 2009 Mr.Miller took the Colts team to Australia to play against elite Australian Schools. Another trip is now planned for 2012.
