Football Academy

Established in 2007 the Hastings Boys' High School Football Academy is proud of the achievements of former and current players from the academy, with a number of students playing representative and federation junior football.

Members of the academy have a pathway through the school and their academic work is constantly monitored to ensure that they are achieving the correct balance between their sporting interest and school work.

We ensure that all students leave with qualifications that will take them to the next stage of their life journey as well as providing opportunities for the boys to play football to the highest possible level in the future.

The academy has in the past two years has had definite focuses on different aspects of the game with the year nine focus being technical based around the 1000 touch manipulation program and SAQ which gives the boys more speed and balance.

The year 10 academy has a greater focus on tactics with the theory session on a Monday involving discussions around the different formations teams play and why. The year 10 group also do a CBR (Club Based Referees) referees course and an introduction to coaching course to help them develop understanding of the game.
