The Hastings Boys' High School Mountain Biking Team has over recent years has seen many of it's riders win both regional, national and International events.  We have seen in the last two years former students go on to secure professional contracts with Mountain Bilking teams offering them the opportunity to ride all over the world.  Aari Barrett is now riding with the reputable Scott Racing Team and George Brannigan is riding with Team Ancillotti.

The 2010 Mountain Biking Team is also progressing well with Master In Charge of Mountain Biking Mr Mike Jenks regularly taking boys out to train.  Successes in 2010 have been:

Jay Barrett  - NZ Mountain Biking Champion 2010

The New Zealand season is about to end with the North Island Cup series and the N.Z. age group races having been completed.  Jay Barrett won all of the North Island Cup races in the U17 age group with his younger brother Cam coming 3rd overall in the U15 age group.

Jay then went on to win the N.Z. overall title.  The school continues to be at the forefront of downhill mountain biking in New Zealand.   The school group goes out training every Tuesday evening and looks forward to the New Zealand Secondary School Championships Camp
