When touring in Canada you are seen as a representative team of New Zealand.   The quality of opposition, including men's teams, was very strong.   The boys played exceptionally well and that was reflected by the results, particularly competing well against a Canadian U20 selection.    The tour developed a lot of young talent for the 1999 season and gave leaving boys a great send off.
