The 2011 Year 10 Hockey Academy students have made huge progress this year.  We have been fortunate again to have former HBHS 1st XI Captain, 2008 Head Boy and NZ U21 Junior Black Stick Callum Bailey come to train with the boys and offer some coaching advice.  callum has just recently returned from the Junior Black Sticks series against Malaysia where he was a pivotal player starting every game at inside right.

Callum commented on how impressed he was with the Hockey Academy Students' technical skill level as well as their focus and application through out the sessions. 

He has fully endorsed the HBHS Hockey Academy which he commented is "without a doubt the premier school hockey academy delivered in Hawke's Bay.... it's totally unique".

Headmaster Mr Sturch presents Callum Bailey with a Hastings Boys' Academy shirt in recognition for his selection again for the NZ Junior Black Sitcks in 2011 and his help with the Hockey Academy sessions.
