At Hastings Boys' High School we are very proud of the balance we manage to achieve with our students.  Whilst we are proud of our students' sporting achievements our school achieves in so many more areas not least academically.

IS THIS DUE TO HBHS OVER USING UNIT STANDARDS?

Other local schools now argue that Hastings Boys' High School over uses Unit Standards primarily to bolster this figure.  THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Figures released recently by ERO show that in fact when you look at schools in Hawke's Bay, including local high decile co-educational schools, Hastings Boys' High School has used significantly less units standards.  We are proud of this achievement.
