Sports Fees

We endeavour to keep costs to a minimum.  Most of the playing gear required is supplied by the school and transport is heavily subsidised.  We are most generously supported by the many local organisations shown on our "Supporters of Sport" web page.  We have been fortunate to receive generous support from local charities as well.  Sports trips are generally on a user-pay basis.

At its December 2012 meeting the Hastings Boys' High School Board of Trustees passed a motion: "that students who have not paid school fees will not qualify for a subsidy towards sports trip. Agreed"

The School is fortunate that the BOT offers a subsidy for every sporting trip and event.  This is possible by the school donation that is paid by parents and caregivers.  However, the spiraling costs now mean that the subsidy is only available to those families who pay into this fund.  If the yearly donation is paid the trip will be heavily subsidised but if not paid the full cost  of the trip will be charged to the family.  The fee will need to be paid before the trip takes place.

Many parents are setting up Automatic Payments to help pay for their children's fees.  You are welcome to contact the Bursar to talk through this option.
