Course description

This course is a mixture of Business Studies, Economics and Agribusiness to extend high-performing Commerce students. We also cover the topic of investing through a partnership with Sharesies and guest speakers. Each student sets up their own Sharesies account and uses class time to invest in shares and funds from businesses in NZ, Australia and the USA.  This course covers a mix of Internal and External Assessments. University Entrance (UE) can be achieved from this subject.

AS90381 (Business Studies) Apply business knowledge to address a complex problem(s) in a given global business context. (External: 4 Credits).

AS91383 (Business Studies) Analyse a human resource issue affecting businesses. (Internal: 3 Credits).

AS91385 (Business Studies) Investigate the exporting potential of a New Zealand business in a market, with consultation. (Internal: 3 Credits).

AS91869 (AgriBusiness) Analyse future proofing strategies to ensure long term viability of a business. (Internal: 4 Credits).

AS91871 (AgriBusiness) Analyse how a product meets market needs through innovation in the value chain. (Internal: 4 credits)
