We have a new initiative under our Akina Junior programme called “Volleyball Ignite”, aimed at developing fundamental volleyball skills in our Year 9 and 10 students, with the opportunity to involve Year 8 boys from our local contributing schools.

Programme Details:

Dates: Wednesdays – 4th June to 25th June (Weeks 6–9)

Time: 3:00pm – 4:30pm

Participants: Limited to 15 boys (Years 8 )

Cost: $40 per participantFree for our Year and 10 Junior boys

Venue: School Gymnasium

Approach: TGFU (Teaching Games for Understanding)

Support: Coaching from selected senior A volleyball players (Hastings Boys & Girls)

In addition, we’ll run a 3-day holiday programme during the first week of the term break:

Dates: Monday 30th June – Wednesday 2nd July

Time: 8:30am – 2:00pm

Cost: $30 per day or $90 for all three days

Venue: Gymnasium and Canopy

This programme is designed to foster early skill development, strengthen inter-school connections, and create a pathway for students into more competitive volleyball, while also supporting the development of our senior athletes through coaching opportunities.
