Learning Areas

Mathematics focuses on the core skills of numeracy while encompassing a broad range of topics in Mathematics and Statistics. It uses a mixture of skills-based exercises, digital platforms, and projects to learn mathematics in an enjoyable but structured way.

Te Ao Māori immerses students in the rich culture and traditions of the Māori people. Students learn te reo Māori, engage in traditional Māori arts and crafts, participate in cultural performances and deepen their understanding of Māori history and customs.

Why is the Earth getting warmer? What does it mean to be alive? How do X-rays help us see broken bones? Why does a lamp turn on when it is put in a circuit? Science explores these questions and more. Students learn how science affects everything we do through experiments, investigations, discussions and collaborative work.

Social Studies is about our place in the world, how we interact wiht each other and how we interact with our planet. Students explore themes including migration, conflict, kaitiakitanga, and challenge, to gain an understanding that people have differing perspectives and that how they view issues and events may differ.
