Fortress 40

A 2026 Prefect Legacy Project

Empowering Conversations about Men's Mental Health

Saturday 19th September 12AM – Sunday 20th September 4PM

As leaders of the 800+ young men at Hastings Boys’ High School, we believe it’s our duty to break the silence and spark vital conversations about men’s mental health in New Zealand.

To bring this mission to life, we are taking on Fortress 40, a gruelling 40-hour endurance challenge designed to test our absolute limits. Through non-stop physical exertion, including lifting, running, cycling, swimming, circuits, and cold-tolerance training, we will be pushing ourselves past the breaking point to prove the strength of both body and mind.

Fortress 40 was started by our Super 8 brother school, Tauranga Boys' College, and has run for a number of years now. This year, all Super 8 schools are taking part.
