$100 for A Grade players

$50 for B, C and D grade players

​​​​​​​Player Uniform

Ākina GOLD and Ākina BLUE jerseys provided.

All other teams wear HBHS PE Uniform.

All boys to provide their own HBHS PE (or alternative HBHS sports) shorts and socks. Rackets and Shuttles are available.

Non-marking shoes-only will be allowed for trainings and games.

- Season starts Week 2 of Term 2

- Season ends Week 6 of Term 3

​​​​​​​Training is Fridays 7-8am in the gym.

Games are Tuesdays after school (transport provided for away games).

4-6 players per team.

​​​​​​​Trials

Badminton trials are held at the end of Term 1

Rules and Expectations

Students are expected to attend all trainings, meetings and all games as scheduled. School rules must be followed and Ākina Man Values consistently shown to be able to play football at HBHS. 

​​​​​​​If a student chooses to play Badminton they are making a commitment to attend all trainings and play each game when possible. This is a commitment to their mates. If they intend to play Badminton and another winter sport(s) then we will work with another code to make this happen.

The Skarott Shield recognises the most improved member association throughout the NZ Junior Teams Championship tournament, celebrating growth and achievement. Two of our Ākina GOLD team members represented Hawke's Bay at the tournament:
